Civic Epistemologies at Digital Heritage 2015, Granada 1 October 2015

DH2015-470x419Civic Epistemologies has been presented at the panel “From Digitisation to Preservation, Creative Re-use of Cultural Content and Citizen Participation” at the DIGITAL HERITAGE 2015 conference in Granada (28 September – 2 October 2015).

The Digital Heritage 2015 focused around five heritage themes:

  • Digitisation and Acquisition
  • Computer Graphics and Interaction
  • Analysis and Interpretation
  • Theory, Methodologies, Preservation and Standards
  • Digital Heritage Projects and Applications

Antonella Fresa, chair of the session organised by Promoter, welcomes the audiences and introduces the Panel, “From Digitisation to Preservation, Creative Re-use of Cultural Content and Citizen Participation”.

The “From Digitisation to Preservation, Creative Re-use of Cultural Content and Citizen Participation” panel, organised by Promoter srl, has took place on 1st October 2015 (14.30 -16.30 CET), and has offered an overview of initiatives and EU projects E-SpaceRICHESCivic EpistemologiesPREFORMA, and Photoconsortium: relevant speakers, from key institutions in Europe which are involved in the scenario of digital cultural heritage. These presentations have fostered a debate to understand the path towards a more advanced society, that makes use of the full potential of digital technologies to foster cultural and societal progress. This panel has also an unmissable occasion for sharing knowledge and best practices: cultural managers, ICT experts, researchers, service providers and other EU projects were warmly invited to attend, for cross-dissemination and networking.

Civic Epistemologies project has been presented by Sy Holsinger (from EGI.eu) who has informed the audiences about the achieved results of the project (that will end at the end of November 2015).
