Civic Epistemologies engages with the audio-visual digital cultural heritage best practice network EUscreenXL
EUscreenXL is a three-year best practice network project co-funded in 2013 under the CIP ICT-PSP Programme of the EC. It aggregates a comprehensive body of professional audiovisual content and makes it accessible through Europeana and the EUscreenXL portal.
The project consortium consists of 22 leading audio-visual archives, excellent media scholars and skilled technical service providers from all European countries.
The University of Malta is an associate partner in this project which recently had its Project Management Board meeting with the Advisory Group in Valletta, Malta
The meeting was hosted on 15-16 January 2015 in the Old University Campus in Valletta and was an excellent opportunity to also start a discussion on citizen science applications which would aim to engage wider communities with the audio-visual content. As a result Prof. Eggo Mueller, coordinator of EUscreenXL, decided to attend the Roadmap workshop of Civic Epistemologies in Leuven, Belgium.
